Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Licensed
practical nurses work with registered nurses and physicians. They cared for
injured, handicapped, and sick patients. They take temperatures, blood pressures
and pulse. They also give injections, change dressings, and give bath to the
patients. They work in hospitals, care facilities homes and nursing homes. Some
nurses work in private homes.
Salary: $16,000 - $26,000
Education:
High
school diplomas or GEDs are not required for this job. But, they encourage you
to get one of them. Licensed practical nurse does not have the professional
education required for a registered nurse. They are training programs offered
by hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges and private schools.
I wouldn’t want to
be a licensed practical nurse. I rather be a registered nurse, so I can help
the licensed practical nurses in their training.
