Ophthalmologist

               

Duties and Responsibilities:
          Ophthalmologists specialize in treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat visions problems with prescription. They also perform eye surgery if it’s necessary. Most ophthalmologists work in private practices, however some do work in hospitals and clinics.

Average Salary: $90,000 - $150,000                         


Education:

          Only physicians can study to become ophthalmologists. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency in an ophthalmology program.

I wouldnt like to be an ophthalmologists because it isnt something that catches my attention. Also, i wouldnt think i would trust myself to do eye surgery.

Ophthalmic Technician

                      Ophthalmic Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
          Ophthalmic Technicians help ophthalmologists collect data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and treatments of eye diseases and problems. They work at hospitals, clinics or ophthalmologists in work in private practice. Their responsibilities often are:
·        Doing simple eye exams
·        Assisting with eye surgery
·        Explaining diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients.    


Salary: $14,000 - $25,000

Education:

         Students need a high school diploma or GED certificate and two years of college prior to beginning ophthalmic training programs. 


I wouldnt like to be a ophthalmic technician because it isnt what i want to do when i grow up. Also, it isnt something that will interest me in life.
