Optical Laboratory Technician

                                Optical Laboratory Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
Optical Laboratory Technicians grind and fit eye lenses into frames according to the prescription. Technicians set lens grinding machine so that lens blanks are ground and polished. Some ophthalmic technicians work in optical laboratories or for optometrists or ophthalmologists.  Many work in retail stores that have optical departments.

Salary: $15,000 - $20,000

Education:

A high school diploma or GED certificate is needed to begin optical laboratory training.  Training schools last from 6 months to a year. Some retail stores provide on-the-job training.

I wouldnt want to as an optical laboratory technician. This job isn't what i would like to major in. It doesn't seem like something i would like to do as a career.
